MFB firefighters are currently assisting at a pesticide spill on Dunlop Road in Hoppers Crossing.

MFB and CFA crews were called out just before midday today following a call to triple-zero that pesticide was leaking from two containers.

On arrival, firefighters found two 1000 litre plastic containers with a small leak and set up an exclusion zone.

About 400 litres of liquid has leaked from the containers.

MFB’s Scientific Officer was advised of the incident and a specialised HAZMAT crew is on scene assisting with the containment.

The incident was declared under control at 12:30pm.

Ambulance Victoria paramedics were called to assist with two people who had touched the pesticide.

Firefighters have been decanting the liquid from the damaged containers into a fresh container.

Victoria Police, Environment Protection Authority and Worksafe are also assisting at the scene.
