A number of call were received by MFB this afternoon for a house fire at Yerrin Street, Balwyn.

Early reports stated that a male had re-entered the burning building.

The first crews arrived at the two-storey brick premises in just over three minutes.

Firefighters immediately donned Breathing Apparatus and entered the building with hoselines to search the building and commence an aggressive attack on the fire.

There was a partial collapse of the building at the rear.

After a secondary search it was confirmed that all occupants were out of the house.

The fire was declared under control just before 5pm this afternoon.

A cause is yet to be given.

Police and Ambulance are assisting at the scene.
