Firefighters battle Broadmeadows house fire

Early this morning MFB firefighters received a call for a house fire just up the road from the Broadmeadows Fire Station.

Just after 6am, crew responded to the blaze in Camp Road, Broadmeadows where they found a single storey house well alight and threatening an adjoining property.

At this stage the occupants of the house are unaccounted for and MFB firefighters are conducting a search of the premises.

Asbestos has been detected in the building which will result in crews being decontaminated.

Further information from the scene is that there has been a partial collapse of the roof of the house and the occupants have now been accounted for.

At this stage the cause has not been determined.

Police are on scene assisting with traffic control at the scene
