More than 30 MFB firefighters responded to a residence in Nebula Court after receiving several Triple Zero (000) calls reporting a garage fire just before 3:30am.

Crews arrived to the Kealba home in less than five minutes and found the 20 x 30 metre double storey garage fully involved in the fire.

Firefighters in Breathing Apparatus battled the blaze and worked to contain the fire and prevent it spreading to the main house.

The fire was declared under control less than 40 minutes after MFB’s arrival on scene, and crews managed to prevent the fire spreading to neighbouring structures.

Four residents had safely self-evacuated prior to MFB’s arrival.

No injuries were  reported, however one resident was treated on scene by Ambulance Victoria paramedics.

The exact cause of the fire is unknown at this stage.

Victoria Police are also assisting on scene.
