Firefighters battling shop fires in Armadale

MFB crews are currently on the scene of a shop fire in Armadale.

Multiple calls to triple-zero reported that a number of shops on Glenferrie Rd were well involved and smoke was a hazard.

Due to the number of calls additional appliances were despatched. 

On arrival crews found three, two-storey shops well involved in fire on the ground floor. 

A number of people had evacuated from the buildings however there were concerns that more people may still be inside.

Firefighters conducted a search and found no one else was inside.

The fire was declared under control in 34 minutes.

Fire investigators will attend to determine the cause.

Ambulance Victoria and Victoria Police assisted at the scene.
