MFB attended a fire in a single-storey brick veneer dwelling in Blanche St just after 5:00pm this afternoon.

On arrival, crews administered Emergency Medical Response (EMR) to a patient outside the property until Ambulance Victoria arrived on scene and transported the patient to hospital.

Firefighters implemented an aggressive attack on the blaze and conducted a search of the premises to ensure no-one was inside the property. Fortunately, no other persons were found.

The swift work of crews ensured the blaze was deemed under control in 20 minutes and was contained to the front two rooms of one half of a duplex property measuring 15m x 20m.

The cause of the fire is being investigated.
