Firefighters rescue man from tree in Box Hill

Firefighters were called to rescue a man in his 20s stuck up a tree in Box Hill this morning.

Crews were called to assist Victoria Police at Box Hill Gardens at 4.16am.

A friend of the man called 000 and reported the man was stuck 10 metres up the tree. It’s believed the man in the tree may have been intoxicated.

Two MFB crews and one SES crew attended the incident.

It took crews approximately half an hour to release the man from the tree.

Victoria Police will not be investigating.
