Firefighters rescue truck driver from wreck in Heathmont

MFB firefighters have freed a truck driver from his B-double after it veered off a road in Heathmont.

Crews were called to the scene on Canterbury Road around 9:15 this morning. 

The driver was trapped in the cabin while the crash also brought down power lines. 

Crews from Nunawading and Ringwood attended the scene. 

Firefighters worked hard for 50 minutes to free the driver from the hazardous scene using heavy rescue tools and equipment. 

MFB worked seamlessly with Ambulance Victoria and Victoria Police to mitigate the emergency and help with the safe removal of the driver.
