MFB firefighters have saved a home from flames after multiple Triple Zero (000) callers reported a car fire in the adjoining garage.

Crews were called to the property on Station Road just after 3pm. The first firefighting appliance arrived on scene within four minutes to find the car and garage engulfed in flames and the fire spreading to the single storey house.

Using hose lines, firefighters were able to contain the fire and minimise the damage to the house.

The fire was declared under control 24 minutes after the first crews arrived on scene.

A male occupant sustained burns to his hands and was placed in the care of Ambulance Victoria.

The cause of the fire has not been determined.

Victoria Police and CFA also assisted at the scene.
