Firefighters have worked together to quickly control a fire on Melbourne's urban fringe this afternoon.

Crews from MFB and CFA were called to Woolnough Drive in Mill Park just before 5pm, after receiving several reports of a grass fire.
Firefighters managed to keep the area affected to an area measuring approximately 100 by 20 metres.
The rear fences of the properties sustained damage and the fire has been deemed suspicious; police are investigating.
The fire was declared under control after 34 minutes.
If you live directly next to grassland and a fire occurs, quickly walk one or two streets back from the fire. It is safest to do this by walking to keep roads clear for emergency services and help reduce road accidents.  If you live one or more streets away from grassland you should stay where you are.
