05 Aug 2016
Firefighters have battled a house fire in Strathmore after neighbours saw smoke billowing from the home.

Crews were called to the Glenbervie Road double story brick veneer house at 2.42pm.

Triple Zero callers stated that they could see smoke coming from the down stairs window and the roof area of the house, they also stated that they could hear the crackling of fire.

Firefighters using breathing apparatus conducted an internal attack of the fire which involves both levels of the structure, possibly spread via the ducted heating system. Crews are also checking for fire spread in the roof space.

All occupants have been accounted for and there have been no reports of injuries.

Police and ambulance are on scene assisting the MFB and members of the public are advised to avoid the area.

At this early stage of the incident no cause had been determined. The fire was brought under control in 35 minutes.
