Fireys save cars from damage after bungalow blaze

Firefighters have prevented a bungalow fire from spreading this morning.

Crews were called to Maxweld Street in Ardeer about 10.11am and on arrival discovered a bungalow fully involved in fire.

Quick action by the firefighters on scene prevented the fire from spreading to a carport, some cars in the carport and a nearby house.

Breathing apparatus was in use.

The fire was deemed under control in 15 to 20 minutes.

There is an approximate damage bill of $40,000.

The cause is being investigated.
