Fireys save thousands of dollars of equipment in factory fire

Firefighters have prevented damage to thousands of dollars worth of machinery and equipment after a fire in Mulgrave this evening.

Crews were called to the landscaping factory on Glenvale Crescent just after 9pm.
The fire was in a group of factories which initially proved difficult to access.
Quick work by MFB firefighters saw the blaze contained to the middle section of one factory. 
An aggressive attack by MFB and CFA firefighters contained the fire to the middle section of one of the factories, before it could spread to the administrative area. Firefighters also saved some large machinery, fork lifts and other equipment. A car within the factory was damaged in the fire.
The fire took 45 minutes to bring under control.
A cause has yet to be determined and MFB Fire Investigators will attend.
Breathing apparatus was in use.
