02 May 2017
Firefighters have gained the upper hand on a fire which ripped through a Sunshine North warehouse this evening.

Around 80 firefighters mounted an agressive attack on the blaze using aerial appliances and the incident is now under control.

Crews arrived at the disused go-kart centre on Ballarat Road just after 7.30pm following several calls to Triple Zero (000) reporting flames and thick smoke coming out of the roof.

The building was fully involved in fire and crews will remain on scene for some time until the fire is fully extinguished.

MFB's Fire Investigation team will return to the scene in the morning to investigate the cause of the incident.
