06 Oct 2019
Approximately 30 firefighters have responded to a fire in a garden shed on Chaleyer Street, following multiple Triple Zero (000) calls shortly before 6pm.

Initial callers reported smoke and flames issuing from the building in Reservoir, threatening neighbouring homes.

MFB crews arrived on scene within six minutes to find the shed fully engulfed in the blaze.

Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus set up hose lines at the rear of the property to attack the fire externally.

Thanks to the quick work of MFB crews the blaze did not spread to any houses, but has affected backyard sheds and a pergola in two properties.

The fire was declared under control 17 minutes after crews arrived on scene.

The exact cause of the fire is unknown at this stage.

Ambulance Victoria and Victoria Police are assisting on scene.
