19 Apr 2018
Firefighters were called out shortly after 3.30am this morning to reports of a shed fire in Albanvale.

Crews arrived on scene in Eaton Court, Albanvale within seven minutes of being despatched to the incident.

On arrival they found a 6 x 6 metre shed and carport with a high fire load, well alight and impacting on the attached house.

The occupants of the house had self-evacuated prior to the brigade's arrival.

Firefighters in breathing apparatus, entered the home to prevent the fire spreading through the house, as it was breaking through into the roofspace.

The fire was caused by a hose not being attached to a gas cylinder tightly enough. The owner was cooking in the shed when the fire started.

There were no reports of any injuries.

The fire was deemed under control within 30 minutes and firefighters remained on scene until it was deemed safe to hand back to the owner.
