Gas leak in Docklands

Crews were called to Enterprize Way off Bourke St at 10:05am this morning following multiple calls to Triple Zero.

Firefighters arrived on scene in just over four minutes to find a substantial gas leak.

Crews have placed water fogs on the leaking gas to disperse the vapour and prevent a cloud.

Specialist firefighters are also using detecting equipment to monitor the air in the area.

The gas company is now working to shut off the gas.

More than 300 people have been evacuated from the area.

Bourke St has been closed by police in attendance.

No injuries have been reported.

A community warning has been issued.
