08 Oct 2014
A fun day out for the whole family.

The annual Glen Waverley Fire Station open day will be held on Sunday 26 October from 10am to 1pm.

Appliances on display include a ladder platform and a rescue unit, which will perform a car cutting demonstration.

There will also be a barbecue for those that attend.

The event is part of Community Safety Month.

"The event is a great opportunity for the local community to meet the firefighters, tour the station, learn about fire risk in their area and have a bit of fun," Glen Waverley Leading Firefighter Graeme Gough said.

"The kids love it when we hold open days because they get to dress up like little chiefs and squirt the hose.

"The station is on the border of the MFB and CFA areas, so all are invited to come along and learn some valuable safety tips in the lead up to summer."
