Glenroy Bungalow fire causes $50,000 damage.

MFB fire crews called to a bungalow fire in Glenroy this morning, which caused $50,000 damage.

MFB crews attended a bungalow fire this morning shortly before 11am in Evell St/Sunbeam St Glenroy.

On arrival, fire fighters were confronted with a detached hardi plank and weatherboard bungalow at the rear of a house totally involved by fire. The 5x15m bungalow with an asbestos sheeting roof and contents has been severely damaged by fire.  Firefighters prevented any damage to the exposures at the sides of the burning building.


The occupants of the premises were in attendance at the time of the fire but escaped uninjured.  Firefighters got the fire under control in 18 minutes.  The blaze caused about $50,000 damage.
MFB Fire Investigation Unit in attendance to establish a cause.


Eighteen firefighters were on scene, with four pumpers, one rescue unit, one aerial unit and breathing apparatus support also attending.
