MFB firefighters are currently on scene in Park Place,South Melbourne, where a fire has erupted in a Greek restaurant.

MFB firefighters are currently on scene in Park Place, South Melbourne, where a fire has erupted in a Greek restaurant.
Firefighters arrived at the premises about 3pm to find flames showing through the roof and thick smoke emanating.
It’s believed the fire began in the lower levels of the building and quickly spread through a flue into the top storey and ceiling space.
One man was inside the restaurant at the time but managed to get himself out safely when the fire began.
Six fire trucks are currently on scene and are working to extinguish the blaze.
Nearby residents are being advised to remain indoors and close their windows.
Traffic has been blocked in both directions and drivers are being urged to avoid the area.
