27 May 2019
MFB firefighters made quick work of a fire which ripped through a Hawthorn East home last night.

Crews were called to the Fletcher Street address just after 11pm after neighbours noticed the blaze and raised the alarm.

Firefighters worked quickly to contain the fire to the back of the house and get it under control within 23 minutes.

The fire is not believed to be suspicious but the cause of the incident will be investigated.
