MFB crews helped contain a hazmat spill at Swanston Street Dock on Friday 24 July.

Crews were called to the dock on Mackenzie Road, West Melbourne, about 4.16pm after workers noticed a shipping container leaking an unknown aerosol product on board a ship.

The first crews on scene requested specialist back-up of Hazmat crews which were dispatched.

The leaking container was below a number of other containers, which were removed to give MFB firefighters access to the container.

Victoria Police and Ambulance Victoria crews also attended.
