Heidelberg building fire under control in 20 minutes

MFB crews responded to a building fire in Heidelberg at 12:57am this morning.

Mutiple calls were made to Triple Zero for the building, which was emitting lots of black smoke.

Firefighters arrived on scene in under four minutes and found the five by 10 metre building fully involved.

The building was located close to a train line, however no rail services were affected.

A Community Warning was issued for smoke blowing in a northerly direction including towards Heidelberg Hospital.

No injuries have been reported.

The cause of the fire is yet to be determined.
