MFB’s specialist High Angle Rescue Firefighters have rescued a man who fell and became trapped on a crane in Southbank a little before 7am this morning.
Crews responded to the Kavanagh Street address quickly and worked to remove a patient who had fallen landing inside the crane structure.
It was a complex operation which required a high level of skill from emergency responders.
Firefighters placed the man on a stretcher and lowered him to safety where he could be transferred into the care of Ambulance Victoria paramedics at around 8am.
WorkSafe are on scene and will investigate the circumstances surrounding the incident.
MFB responded one pumper, an aerial unit, and MFB’s High Angle Rescue unit.
