MFB Firefighters responded to house on fire in Doncaster in the early hours of Friday morning, amid initial fears that a resident had not been accounted for.

Crews were called to Timber Ridge just before 5am, where they found the rear of a single storey brick home on fire with flames coming from the roof.

Firefighters arrived on scene and quickly mounted an attack in a bid to extinguish the blaze, and thankfully were able to locate all residents.

One person was treated for smoke inhalation at the scene, and was later transported to hospital in the care of Ambulance Victoria paramedics.

The hard work of approximately 25 firefighters ensured the fire was brought under control just 32 minutes after the call for assistance came via Triple Zero (000).

At the height of the blaze there were seven MFB firefighting appliances at the scene.

MFB’s specialist Fire Investigation Unit was deployed to conduct further analysis. They determined that the cause of the blaze was due to an electrical issue and was accidental.
