House fire in Doncaster East.

MFB attended the single storey weatherboard house fire around 2pm today.

 

The fire originated in the kitchen/lounge area before spreading up into the roof space and then going through the tiled roof.

The affected area including the contents has been severely damaged by fire.

The remainder of the house has been severely damaged by heat and smoke.

The fire was brought under control in 7 minutes with approximately 16 firefighters attending using breathing apparatus.

A fire duty will be in place for the remainder of the day and will possibly extend into the night.

MFB Fire Investigation Unit is in attendance to establish a cause.
