17 Aug 2018
MFB crews responded to a fire at a home in Palmer St shortly after 12:00am this morning.

Firefighters were on scene in just over five minutes, arriving to find two bedrooms well alight, with smoke pouring from the roof.

Fortunately the occupants of the home were away on holiday and were not inside.

Firefighters in Breathing Apparatus made an aggressive internal attack and contained the fire to the bedrooms.

As the fire had entered the roof space, crews also had to access the roof to put it out.

The blaze was declared under control at 12.34am.

No injuries were reported.

Victoria Police and Ambulance Victoria were also on scene.

The cause of the fire is unknown and MFB Fire Investigators will attend today to determine the cause.
