House fire in Heidelberg called in by police

MFB firefighters are currently on scene in Heidelberg following a house fire this afternoon.

A police patrol radioed the call in about 12:45pm, after spotting the property in flames.

Crews were quick on scene arriving at the Weyburn Court property within five minutes.

Firefighters in breathing apparatus entered the building through the back door and attacked the blaze, bringing it under control within 45 minutes.

A search of the property revealed no one was inside at the time.

The cause of the fire is yet to be determined and fire investigators will attend and investigate.
