House fire in Jacana

The fire originated on the front porch of the premises before spreading to the roof of the single storey brick house.

The front porch area plus the room and contents were severely damaged by the fire. A section of the roof timbers above the fire were also damaged. Breathing apparatus were used during the blaze and the fire was brought under control in 5 minutes.

Part of the premises was damaged by heat, smoke and water.

The cause of the fire is being investigated.
