26 Oct 2018
More than 20 MFB firefighters battled a house fire on Spence Street in Keilor Park that broke out just before 2pm.

Crews were alerted after neighbours noticed thick smoke and flames coming from the home and called Triple Zero (000).

Firefighters were on scene in six minutes and were confronted with a two storey brick residence alight in the front portion of the home.

The fire was deemed under control in 40 minutes as crews attacked the blaze from the rear of the property to protect surrounding homes.

The occupant of the home self-evacuated before MFB crews arrived and there are no reported injuries.

MFB Fire Investigators are working to determine the cause of the fire.

Victoria Police and Ambulance Victoria were also in attendance.
