House fire in Meadow Heights

A house has been severley damaged with the cause believed to have been children playing with lighters.

TIME:  1530 hrs

Keogh Court/Buchan Street, Meadow Heights
                              
Involved a single storey brick veneer house of approximately 13 squares.

The front rooms of the premises including the contents have been severely damaged by fire while the remainder of the premises has been damaged by heat, smoke and water. A large section of the roof area has also been severely damaged and was threatening to collapse at the height of the blaze.

MFB wishes to advise that parents need to be very observant of what their children are doing and playing with during the school holidays.

The fire was under control in 10 minutes.

The cause of the fire is believed to be children playing with a lighter.
