More than 40 firefighters were called to a fire at the Taylors Lakes fast-food chain.

MFB received a number of calls including from the manager of the store for a fire in the roof space of the Taylors Lakes Hungry Jacks restaurant. The incident occurred on Thursday 10 April just before 6pm.

Additional appliances were dispatched to the fire due to the large number of calls that the fire was visible coming out of the roof and the flue of the store.

It took crews thirty minutes to bring the fire under control. Breathing Apparatus was in use.

There were no customers in the store at the time and six staff were safely evacuated and accounted for by the management of the store.

The cause of the fire is under investigation but is believed to be some faulty equipment in the kitchen area.

Damage is extensive.
