01 Jun 2015
Police are investigating a suspicious fire at a Scout Hall over the weekend.

Firefighters were called to the blaze on Norman Street in Ivanhoe at 7.30pm on Saturday night.

The scout hall was fully involved when the first appliance arrived on scene so additional fire trucks responded.

The weatherboard hall, measuring 50x10m, is very close to the railway line, so train services were stopped for approximately 45 minutes.

Fire investigators determined the fire was deliberately lit and the scene was handed over to police.
