Kensington Unit Fire

The fire was contained to piles of rubbish, mattresses, fencing etc and a timber fa├žade next to a two storey block of brick units.

TIME: 2308 hrs CALL No.: 7686

The fire has impinged on a window frame of one of the units allowing smoke into the unit.

Two dogs inside the unit were overcome by smoke and unfortunately one of the dogs was deceased from smoke inhalation. The other animal has been transported by the Animal Ambulance to the Lort Smith Lost Dogs home for treatment. Under control in 9 minutes.

Breathing apparatus in operation. The cause has been deemed to be suspicious circumstances and Police are investigating.
