Kitchen fire wreaks havoc in Coburg

Firefighters have been busy battling a large fire in a Coburg cafe overnight.

It's believed the fire began in the ground floor kitchen and quickly spread through the stairwell to other businesses.

Crews arrived at the Harding Street premises just after 2am to find flames burning through the roof.

Firefighters attacked thr fire from inside and managed to stop ot spreading to neighbouring buildings.

The blaze was declared under control within 1.5 hours however firefighters are expected to remain on scene for some time.

Luckily, no one was injured in the incident.

The fire caused extensive damage to the cafe and top floor of the building.
