Lalor house destroyed by fire

A single storey, brick, four bedroom home has been destroyed by fire this evening.

MFB firefighters arrived within minutes of receiving the report and found the house totally involved in fire.

Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus entered the premises in search of the reported missing occupants. Fortunately the 5 occupants were not home and have since been located.

A neighbouring house was threatened by the flames but MFB firefighters were able to protect this property and stop the spread.

The fire has been deemed of a suspicious nature and the police have been informed.

The MFB will retain a fire duty throughout the night.
