Large scrub fire in Oakleigh South deemed suspicious.

Black smoke from the fire covered parts of Oakleigh South and a community warning was issued.

Date: February 26, 2012 
Time: 19:59 hours

Address: Talbot Park, Oakleigh South.

The fire was difficult to extinguish given the large area involved and took firefighters an hour and 45 minutes to bring under control. 

Police have been advised that the fire is of a suspicious nature.

Attending Appliances: 12 plus Springvale CFA  
Number of firefighters: 50
