Lucky escape for Sunshine family of five.

It would appear that the fire had started in the roof space and walls after the house was hit by lightning.

The male occupant noticed flames emitting from the house ducting after turning on his evaporative cooler. 

Early reports raised concerns that the family were still inside but MFB firefighters quickly determined that they had safely self-evacuated.

On arrival MFB firefighters found the top floor of the two storey brick dwelling (10x10m) fully involved in fire.  An aggressive attack by MFB firefighters stopped the spread of fire to the lower level.  The fire was under control in approximately 35 minutes.
