MFB Golf Club tees off for reconciliation

The MFB Golf Club and the Indigenous Golfing Association of Victoria will play for the inaugural Reconciliation Golf Cup.

When: Monday 30 March 2009, Commencing at 8.00 am

Where: Kingswood Golf Club, Dingley, Melways ref: 88, D4

Why: The event is aimed at strengthening relationships between MFB firefighters and the members of the Aboriginal community. Each team will comprise eight players who will compete for the Reconciliation Golf Cup.

It is anticipated that this will become an annual event.

All proceed raised on he day will go towards the medical bills of ill MFB Station Officer Phil Wigg.

“Kingswood Golf Club is Phil’s home club, and the day will show our thanks to Phil for the many years he has contributed to the MFB Golf Club, as well give us the opportunity to contribute to the MFB’s reconciliation efforts,” said MFB Commander Darren Davies.
