29 firefighters and seven appliances tackled the blaze

At 5am this morning MFB was notified by an alarm system and factory workers to a large fire in a factory in Gilbertson Road containing tissue making machinery.

Arriving on scene MFB found the machinery well alight and due to the factory being heavily smoke logged a specialised breathing apparatus appliance was also despatched to assist with the firefighting effort.

Firefighters attacked the fire which took 45 minutes to bring under control.

The cause will be investigated.
