MFB attends house fire in Mount Waverley

Swift actions of crews brings fire under control in 40 minutes

Just after 5pm today MFB crews responded to fire calls to a single storey house in Bales Street.

Arriving on scene smoke was issuing from the roof and firefighters in breathing apparatus attacked the fire internally and externally, confining the fire to the rear of the dwelling and roof area.

Fortunately there were no occupants in the premises and the swift actions of the firefighters brought the fire under control in 40 minutes.

MFB will remain on scene for some time and motorists are asked to avoid the area. 

Seven appliances and twenty firefighters tackled the blaze.
