MFB crews quickly contain Malvern East house fire

MFB crews were called to a house fire on Ash Grove in Malvern East, after several Triple Zero (000) calls were received just before 1:00pm.

Firefighters arrived on scene in less than 6 minutes to find a lot of smoke issuing from the weatherboard house.

Crews quickly began attacking the fire internally and externally, and managed to bring it under control approximately 30 minutes after arriving on scene.

A community warning has been issued for smoke in the area. 

 

Victoria Police and Ambulance Victoria crews are assisting on scene.

Road closures are in place on Ash Grove while Firefighters work to extinguish remaining hot spots.

The public is advised to avoid the area where possible.
