MFB tackles blaze at Foodworks, Sunshine

Fire brought under control in rear of the building

Just before 5.20pm today MFB received a fire call to Foodworks supermarket in Sunshine.

Arriving on scene in three minutes they observed fire and smoke issuing from the building, and firefighters in breathing apparatus made a forced entry to make an internal attack on the fire in the rear extension.

The fire was brought under control at 5.39pm and MFB is checking the extent of the damage and investigating the cause of the fire.

Over 15 firefighters and five appliances are on scene.
