Community warning issued due to smoke in the area

At 10.05pm tonight MFB received a fire call to a house fire in Powlett Street, Mordialloc.

Arriving on scene firefighters found the house fully alight and everyone had evacuated.

A community warning was issued due to the amount of smoke in the area and both the police and Ambulance Victoria were on scene.

Seven appliances and twenty five firefighters tackled the blaze, which was brought under control at 10.48pm.

MFB will remain on scene for some time and the cause of the fire will be investigated.
