MFB unveils state-of-the-art uniforms

Melbourne firefighters will be at Bourke St mall raising awareness of their new state-of-the-art uniforms and affirming their commitment to community safety

The Australian manufactured uniforms meet Australian standards and are made of the same hi-tech, flame resistant materials worn by NASA astronauts.

The new uniform offers greater protection; it is lightweight, functional and adaptable to the types of works undertaken by firefighters.

When: 3 July 2008, 11:30 hours

Where: Bourke Street mall – in front of GPO building (close to corner Elizabeth St – look out for the fire truck)
