Male injured at house fire in Maidstone.

The fire at the single story house was contained to the lounge room area which was severely damaged by the fire.

A section of the roof timbers above the lounge room has also been severely damaged by fire. With the remainder of the premises being damaged by heat, smoke and water.

The sole occupant of the house, a 47 year old male, has suffered slight singing to the hair and eyebrows and slight smoke inhalation and was been transported to Footscray Hospital for observation.

Under control in 5 minutes.

Breathing apparatus in operation.


It is unknown at this stage if smoke alarms were installed in the premises due to the amount of damage in the lounge room.

MFB Fire Investigation Unit will attend during daylight hours to establish a cause.
