Man injured in Derimut garage fire.

A man in his 30’s has suffered superficial burns to his legs following a fire at his home on Sunday.

The man was injured whilst working on his vehicle when a spark from the battery ignited the fuel line causing a fire. The fire quickly engulfed the large double garage, including a car and other stored items. 

 

The aggressive fire did not take long to spread into the adjoining roof space of the house and the single storey brick home was also significantly damaged.

 

The fire took 30 minutess for MFB firefighters to bring under control.
