Man jumps from burning unit.

MFB crews from Windsor were quickly on scene where a person had been trapped on the first floor balcony when fire engulfed that unit.

Address: Dandenong Road, Prahran

Callers to 000 reported a male yelling from the balcony and flames coming out the windows.

Firefighters were quickly on scene, and fortunately the male had jumped the short distance thus alleviating possible burns. Other residents were evacuated away from the fire and smoke affected areas.

The MFB crews have undertaken a search of all the units, even though only the initial unit and one other on the second floor has been fire affected.

Ambulance Victoria  were in attendance treating the male who suffered smoke inhalation and possible leg injuries suffered when he jumped, he was transported to the Alfred Hospital and are also checked any other residents who may have felt affected by shock and the chilly night.

No cause is yet known nor is the value of damage available.
