Man rescued from under a bridge in Southbank

MFB firefighters and High Angle Rescue specialists have rescued a man who was trapped under a bridge in Southbank this afternoon.

Firefighters were called to the scene on Kings Way about 12.15pm.

It's believed the man was under the bridge when he fell several days ago, injuring himself. 

The man was located in a difficult to access area.

Firefighters used ropes to lift the man to safety.

He has been transported to hospital for medical treatment.
