11 Jun 2019
MFB firefighters are currently on scene in Brooklyn, following a house fire.

Crews were called to the Geelong Road address at 11.40am following a Triple Zero (000) call.

The caller was a neighbour who was calling from inside the building while trying to evacuate the occupants.

Crews arrived to find an elderly resident and the neighbour outside the property.

They administered first aid on the two people until Ambulance Victoria paramedics arrived.

The fire had taken hold of the front section and roof of the house.

Firefighters acted quickly and were able to contain the blaze to the front of the house and get the incident under control in just over 20 minutes.

The cause of the fire will be investigated.
